Our President Fred Joughin announced at the SA Reunion that Vindicatrix Qld will host the Down Under Reunion 2012 at the Gold Coast. After investigation we have decided that South Tweed Sports Club is the best venue. We celebrated our Qld Branch 15th Anniversary at this Club in June 2011.

The Club is a medium-large club on the far north coast of NSW, about five kilometres from the Queensland border. It is situated on the Ukerebagh Passage of the Tweed River. The Club currently provides a range of sporting, dining, gaming and entertainment options to its 7,000 plus Members and visitors from all around the area and beyond. Its function room is superb. The staff are friendly and service is good.

The club in Minjungbal Drive is also within walking distance (if you choose to walk) to a lot of motels nearby. Motels in Minjungbal Drive and the surrounding areas are only about 6 kilometres from the Coolangatta Airport which will make easy travelling for our members from interstate, NZ and far north Queensland. This will save time and taxi fares rather than having to disembark your flights in Brisbane. Tweed Heads South is also about 30 kilometres or 40 minutes’ drive to Surfers Paradise. It is close to Coolangatta which is a growing holiday makers’ paradise for anyone who wish to stay on after the Reunion. Transport is easy between Tweed Heads South to Surfers Paradise and beyond this to Southport by buses if you choose to use public transport. 

MOTELS
We have found a few motels around Tweed Heads South and have made a good arrangement with the Calico Court Motel. We have booked their entire 32 Rooms from 30 October to 1 November 2012 at a rate of $73.00 per room double/single including a continental breakfast. This rate is also applicable if you choose not to have breakfast.
